Extended Hours
The surgery now does some late evening surgeries a week from 6.30pm to 8.00pm. These are particularly for patients who work or cannot get to the surgery at any other time. Please enquire at reception for further details. (There is no counter service at this time - only patients with an appointment will be admitted.)

Night/Weekend Calls (Emergencies Only)
An 'Out of Hours' service is provided by the GP's in the local area through EAST LANCASHIRE MEDICAL SERVICES. They cover the hours between 6.30pm and 8.00am weekdays, plus all weekend. Please ring 111 (free service). The NHS Receptionist will take your details and either give you advice or pass your call to the appropriate team. You may be invited to attend the Primary Care Unit to be seen by a Doctor if it is felt that a home visit is unnecessary. The Doctor will be a local GP but not necessarily one of our own Doctors.

What to do in the event of an expected death
In the event of an expected death, eg a patient with cancer, please ring 01254 915005 during surgery hours or 111 as above at other times.
Practice Training Dates
All GP Practices in Blackburn with Darwen are closed on the dates listed below from 1pm to 6.30pm for Protected Learning Time. This enables practice to provide dedicated training to their staff and to discuss and plan way that will allow them to improve services, meet demand and support the wellbeing of staff.

If you feel your request is urgent and cannot wait until the following day provisions have been made for urgent triage, please call 111.
For all routine requests for results, appointments, prescriptions, and general queries please call us back when we re-open as usual the following day. All routine call’s are asked to be made after 10 am to allow us to prioritise the needs of patients with on the day requests for access.
Alternatively, please complete an online triage request via our website or via NHS app and we will respond within 3 working days. If you do not have access to the internet please contact the surgery tomorrow.
